Thanksfulness........
With Thanksgiving being just around the corner, we are all finding things and ways to be thankful. This is the time of the year where we will go that extra mile just to show we care. Making sure we wear our smiles, hold doors, let others go first, and feeling the need to give back that item we borrowed many months. Some people will not mind tipping the waitress an extra $5, allowing that older couple to get a closer parking space, not get angry when your husband leaves the top up on the toilet and maybe even get your nerve up to tell Mother-in-law you can help in the kitchen this Thanksgiving .Children will be extra kind to get whats on the wish-list, Mothers will not nag as much about dirty dishes, Fathers will take out the trash without a purposal, and siblings will not fuss at the dinner table about who's got the dishes tonight. Almost sounds like a perfect world, huh? Well truth is all the things listed above are awesome gestures of kindness. They would all make someone smile and maybe even a 'thank-you' will be said, problem is why do we have to wait til November & December to roll around to do them. Being thankful, showing kindness, and being a cheerful giver SHOULD be enforced everyday! 365 days a year-7days a week-24 hours a day without any "paybacks". Christ showed love everyday. Everywhere he went he showed the amazing love of God. Not once did he think twice, nor did he say, "I don't think I can do that at this time." He didn't wait for a holiday to roll around to remember those in need, he gave continually. He didn't give expecting anything in return, only for their hearts but it wasn't forced........Lets not wait til the holidays to come up to show our concern, gratitude, gratefulness, and love. Be thankful always, show love everyday.......give without expecting anything in return and when they offer look at them and say, "thanks, but no thanks.....i did this because I'm blessed and able." Showing gratitude and thankfulness goes along way. Show the heart of Christ at all times, its what he has called us to do as Christians. He wouldn't call us to do anything if he didn't equip us to do it. You can give, you can love. In a world so selfish, cold , and depraved there are many opportunities to show an act of kindness.......pray for your community, family and friends if you're not able to give. Prayer is the best gift to give someone in these times. There is always a good time to show LOVE.
