BOOTCAMP: a little about me
Hey Ladies! I Hope you chicks are ready to get in the best shape of your lives!
Here's a little about me and my fitness journey: About a year and a half ago my eyes were opened to very unhealthy me. I remember taking a look at some pictures of myself and thinking, "Oh my goodness, I am HUGE!" As I looked at myself, I was disgusted nor ashamed; I felt more disappointed than anything else. At that time with a made up mind and encouraging words from my Husband, Perry I decided then & there I would make a change. My husband talked me into coming and working out with him and the guys at their gym. I was SOOOOOOOO not having that. I mean what woman wants to workout with burley, sweaty, funky men and feel akward as they master exercises that I hadn't did since 7th grade? And then my husband gave me the "look" and answered without saying two words a woman who is serious about her health and will do whatever it takes to get it under control. So with my pride and all, the little that I had (LOL) I waltzed in that gym determined to give it my all and prove to myself that I WOULD FINISH WHAT I STARTED! I came in to the gym weighting 154lbs. Now to some that may not sound like a lot, but the way I carried it and where I carried it was just to much for my body type. He put me through vigorious workouts, 3 days a week. 2 days if Jiu Jitsu drills, and I invented a diet plan for myself that would work best for me with me being anemic and having hypothyroidism. I also began to run......A LOT! Running is something that I always loved to do, and because a year prior I quit smoking it was so much easier to do that. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was something that I had no intentions of keeping up. My husband had decided to incorporate it into our fitness regimen. As I drilled techniques and learned more about the art I fell in-love and have been doing BJJ every since. I am currently a 2 striped white belt, instructed under Perry Williams who is Purple belt. So it had been a year and a half and I stand over 10lbs lighter, more toned, and a renewed, transformed body. I am in the gym every chance that I can and still working at getting my body in the BEST shape ever! My desire now, to educate more women on how important our health is and making myself avalible to helping. I am currently working on my getting Personal Trainer Certification. I am just thankful for the strength that God has given me and the desire to help others.
Sincerely,
Lenay Williams
