Motherhood.........

Motherhood: the state of being a mother;  maternity; the qualities or spirit of a mother. having or relating to an inherent worthiness, justness, or goodness that is obvious or unarguable.

 Motherhood is challenging, rewarding, overwhelming, difficult(at times) but most of all it is one of the greatest gifts. We, as caring mom's display some of the characteristics Jesus had when he walked the earth. We love unconditionally, look beyond faults, care for, and sacrifice for our children. I was only 19 years old when I became a mother. At that time in my life I questioned how I would be able to take on such a challenge ? I wondered mostly on how I could love someone so much and care for them 24/7 & and try  meet their every need ? Do I need some sort of handbook or instruction manual ? Do I call my mom every time there is a "poopy diaper"? How do I clean his/her nose when it gets stuffy ? How long do I wait before taking them out and about ? The circling questions never end ! There were times when I honestly thought, "this poor child isn't going to stand a chance with the nuts she has for parents ! Ha!

Motherhood is filled with joys and challenges, ups and downs, smiles and tears. But by far it is the one of the BEST GIFTS ever ! I honestly don't know how some people can neglect, abandon, walk out on, or even hurt their own children. I remember my Husband saying, "how do these dudes not want to take care of their kids ! Not want to be around their kids?" I actually had the same question for my mom about my dad when I was 8 years old. I remember her answer so clear being, "Pookie, it takes a lot of hard work to be a parent, and some people just don't want to work hard. They give up." 

          Being a godly Mother:

• Like moms, Jesus personally shepherded His disciples.
• Like moms, Jesus was with His disciples all day long. 
• Like moms, Jesus frequently taught His disciples throughout the day
• Like moms, Jesus showed his disciples how to minister to other.
• Finally, like moms, Jesus protected His disciples from wolves.    

It takes hard work to be a mother, or to be a parent period. But God has equipped us with everything that we need to be able to do the task that He has given us. Mother's play a huge part in this society. Whether you are a biological mother, adoptive mother, a legal guardian, a step mother or whatever, Motherhood is a gift and should be treated as that.
